The vaginal health of a woman reduces substantially over a period of time. The primary reasons for such degradation in the health of the vagina are childbirth, abrasion, ageing, hysterectomy, hormonal conditions like PCOS and lifestyle choices like smoking.
The procedures used to reverse some of these damages and to improve the health of the vagina are called vaginal rejuvenation procedures.
PRP and Meso Therapies use growth factor proteins (autologous or pharmacological respectively) to stimulate the collagen and hence improve the health of the mucosa lamina of the vagina and vulva.
This procedure is also called PRP O-Shot or just O-Shot
– The first step is a gynaecological examination to determine the suitability of a vaginal rejuvenation treatment.
– If deemed suitable the area is cleaned for hygiene purposes.
– Then a topical local anesthetic or numbing cream is applied to the area to be treated.
– A speculum maybe used for the treatment to grant the doctor better access
– For PRP treatment a small quantity of blood is drawn (about 10 to 20 ml) and the same is processed to create platelet rich plasma.
– This PRP solution of Meso Solution is then loaded into thin syringes.
– The doctor then proceeds to inject the serum into specific areas of the vagina and vulva.
– The area is cleaned and the procedure is deemed complete.
PRP and Meso serums carry a high density of growth factor proteins. These bioactive proteins when injected in the target area work by two mechanisms:
1. They improve the cell metabolism. That is they stimulate formation of cellular structures consisting of proteins like collagen and elastin.
2. They improve the blood flow in the target area my aiding in formation of new blood vessels.
These two actions together are responsible for an improved health of the vagina and vulva in terms of better elasticity of the tissue and also improved lubrication.
PRP and Meso Vaginal Rejuvenation aim at rejuvenating the vagina and vulva without any surgery. This procedure helps patients who may be experiencing conditions such as:

Pre procedure Instructions
The procedure should be done preferably 1 week after menstruation. Before the treatment, the patient’s vagina must be cleansed thoroughly at home. The patient is requested to abstain from penetrative intercourse for a period of 72 hours before the procedure.
After procedure Instructions
No special post-treatment instructions are needed. Patients are only advised to avoid sexual activities for a period of 72 hours after each of the treatment sessions. In case any discomfort persists after this period then the patient is advised to consult Dr. Sejal again.
PRP and meso injectable treatments for vaginal rejuvenation do not yield instant results. The PRP and meso serum aid in repairing the damage to the treatment area. This can take upto 2 to 3 weeks to take effect. Also multiple sessions of this treatment are needed, ideally placed 4 weeks apart. As a part of standard protocol Dr. Sejal recommends 4 sessions to bring about visible effects on the health of the vagina.

Indicative Prices
Since a localized anesthetic cream is used, there is practically no pain felt during the procedure. In some cases a mild redness or swelling may be observed in the treated area which resolves by itself in 2 to 3 hours.
The results of this procedure are prone to reduce with time as the body ages further. But rest assured the results are long lasting and with maintenance treatment once every six months to a year the results can be sustained for a long time.
