A Carbon Laser Peel is called by different names like China Doll Peel or Hollywood Facial, but at its core is a Laser Skin Rejuvenation Treatment. In this procedure the carbon ‘peel’ or ‘mask’ is used to enhance the efficacy of the laser to achieve an gentle yet thorough exfoliation of the skin. In addition to this exfoliation the procedure retains the advantages of conventional laser skin rejuvenation towards reducing skin pigmentation.

A Carbon laser peel uses the ability of the carbon peel to adhere to the contaminants, the dead skin cells and also the sebum in the skin. This carbon peel also has a very high affinity to absorb laser energy. Hence when we expose the skin treated with a carbon peel to a Pico Nd Yag laser, the carbon along with all the impurities is disintegrated instantaneously. This process provides a gentle yet deep exfoliation of the skin. The following steps are typically followed in a carbon laser peel facial:
The skin is cleaned with a mild cleanser.
Liquid Carbon Peel is applied.
The Carbon Peel is dried.
The Pico – ND Yag Laser is set with the correct intensity to suit your skin.
The laser is fired over the carbon covered area, removing the carbon layer as it passes over it.
The skin is cleansed again.
A soothing hydrating mask is applied.

Probably the best thing about this procedure is that there is virtually no down time. However similar to any skin procedure, it is advisable to take a few precautions like:
Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 days.
Wear a broad spectrum sunscreen.
Use a moisturiser.
Use a mild face wash.
Do not scrub or rub your skin.
Do not apply makeup for 24 hours.
Do not wax, thread or bleach for 7 to 10 days
Do not undergo any salon or spa procedure for upto 72 hours.
